Fifty Shades Freed Awash with Sensation Wand Review

Fifty Shades Freed Wand Vibrator Review

When the new Fifty Shades Freed trailer was released last November, Lovehoney launched the latest products in their Fifty Shades licensed sex toy line. Now I’ve to admit, I haven’t had much of an opportunity to use anything from Lovehoney’s toy lines often, even though I really like their sex toy shop. But I have seen products from their Fifty Shades Collection before. I dismissed the Fifty Shades stuff, because I’m not a fan of the film in the first place. But I recently got a chance to check out the Fifty Shades Freed Wand, courtesy the awesome people at Lovehoney. I’ve to say, after using the wand, I’m definitely interested in what else they’ve to offer from this line.

But not the film. Never that. Moving on…

Now, being unique is hard when it comes to wands, because there are only so many ways you can design one. The Fifty Shades Freed Wand seems like it took some of the best parts of a Doxy and Hitachi Magic Wand Rechargeable, and put them together. So while not an innovation in design, the Fifty Shades Freed “Awash with Sensation” Wand is indeed a thing of beauty. You can check out the video below:

Design-wise, the Fifty Shades Freed wand looks amazing. The entire wand is beautiful, with a velvety plastic body in a deep plum colour. The head and neck are made of silicone, and have rose gold plastic trims around the base of the head and top of the shaft. The entire wand has a soft, silken feel in your hands, though it is a very solid, well-made wand. Other perks about the wand is that it has a lock for when you’re travelling, and a storage pouch.

The wand measures 13 inches from end to end. The shaft tapers from 4.5 inches in girth right at the bottom of the handle to 6.25 inches at the top. The wand is also a bit heavy, with most of the weight being toward the head. Because of this, the head doesn’t shift around much once in contact with the body, which is a good thing for long play sessions or if your partner is prone to flopping about, whilst fighting an orgasm.

Fifty Shades Freed Wand Vibrator Controls

The controls situated right in the centre, with three easy to operate buttons. Plus (+) switches the wand on and increases the power. Minus (–) reduces the power and switches the wand off. And finally, the pulse button in the middle gives you access to the different modes which include ten levels of intensity, and twenty different patterns. You’ll find that the weight is perfectly balanced, as you’ll likely be hovering your thumb over the buttons.

The patterns are all really great. However, it took me a few clicks of the pulse button to get to a patterns that I had in mind. I can only equate some of the patterns to a machine gun fire sound which, when used properly, is actually a nice thing. I typically have to do something like that on my own – which I’m very good at, according to my submissives – but it felt really nice to be able to rest my hands a bit and let the vibe do its job.

With any plug-in wand I expect there to be some power to come with it. I’m a fan of vibrators that give deep clit massaging rumbles on the lower settings, and cause thigh-shaking, can’t stand for a half hour orgasms on higher settings. All wands are noisy and this one is no exception, but it’s pretty quiet on the lower settings. So I can use it for longer, with the only noise coming from my submissive’s mouth – unless I’ve gagged them, which is a different story altogether. On the higher settings though, particularly with the top two, there’s only a change in the noise and not power.

One of the few downsides to the Fifty Shades Freed wand is that the power cord is too thin. I like my wands to have a thicker cord because they are more durable in my experience. It reminds me more of a cell phone cable than anything. So I felt like I needed to be a little more careful with it when using it, which takes me out of my head space a bit.

If you live in the UK, Lovehoney does have a version of the Fifty Shades Freed Wand with a UK plug (likely because Lovehoney is a UK-based company), but I’m not sure if they’ve yet a version with an EU plug. If you buy one and plan to travel with it, having an adaptor would be brilliant.

Cleaning the wand isn’t difficult at all. Like any wand you can use toy wipes for it, but if you don’t have those available, a clean cloth sprayed with toy cleaner would work just fine. You do need to be careful when cleaning the ridges of the neck though, but you can use a damp toothbrush for that. Like I mentioned before, it comes with a storage bag, so keeping the wand dust free and ready to go is pretty simple.

The Fifty Shades Freed Wand is great, as far as an introduction to a new toy goes. If it’s power you’re looking for, you really can’t go wrong with this one. Even at $150.00, it’s a quality wand, great for both innocent and not so innocent uses, and though it’s heavier than most wands, it’s pretty easy to handle.

I would recommend this wand to any beginner to wand vibrators, or anyone who likes gentle and powerful vibrations.

Or any of those twits that call themselves fans of Fifty Shades of Grey… Ugh.

With the speed and various patterns of vibration, you sure as fuck won’t be getting bored with it anytime soon. However, if you need a more rumbly vibration than buzzy, you might want to stick with a Doxy.

The Fifty Shades Freed Wand was sent to me by Lovehoney in exchange for an honest review, which in no way influenced my opinions.
